Onyesonwu Chatoyer is an organizer with the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party and the All-African Women’s Revolutionary Union, an editor with Hood Communist, and is coordinator of the Political Education Working Group of the National Coordinating Committee for the Venceremos Brigade. She is currently serving on the central committee of the A-APRP as a member of the A-AWRU Council representing the US western region.
Onyesonwu has been an organizer for 10 years and was politically activated by the anti-police terrorism mobilizations that broke out across the United Snakes after the murders of Africans Mike Brown and Eric Garner. She helped form a Black Lives Matter chapter in Oregon before being recruited into the A-APRP shortly afterwards and dedicating herself to helping to win the objective of revolutionary Pan-Africanism. She has helped build chapters of the A-APRP in Oregon and New Mexico, helped coordinate the A-AWRU’s first international Pan-African Women’s Day webinar, and served as the MC of the A-APRP’s first international African Liberation Day webinar in 2020. She currently coordinates the A-APRP’s Political Education Seminars tasks force which organizes regular educational seminars on revolutionary African topics for the A-AWRU & A-APRP membership.
Onyesonwu is also a dedicated coalition builder helping to form African liberation and antiimperialist coalitions including African & Indigenous Solidarity Portland, Building Power for Black New Mexico, and the Albuquerque Anti-War Coalition. She has travelled internationally representing the A-APRP in Venezuela, Ghana, and Tanzania and the A-APRP and the Venceremos Brigade multiple times in Cuba, including in a speech reporting the work of the Brigade to Cuba’s president Miguel Diaz-Canel in 2022. She also helped initiate and institutionalize Albuquerque’s car caravan against the US blockade on Cuba with the Albuquerque Anti-War Coalition.
Recently Onyesonwu has entered the field of revolutionary propaganda by helping to launch Weekly Pan-African News, an online news and commentary podcast run by the A-APRP, as well as Hood Communist, a blog run by a coalition of revolutionary African organizations. She has made media appears on the By Any Means Necessary podcast, the Black Myths podcast, the Red Nation Podcast, Voices with Vision, KPLA radio, Unmasking Imperialism, PressTV, and Venezuelan and Cuban state television, among other platforms.
